Murder at Cafe` NoirThe Belle Mount Players presented Cafe` Noir Friday and Saturday, February 13 & 14, 1998 at Heritage Park Resort Great Hall. The performance brought the house down as shots fired and the staggering Floyd Thursby enters the room. Not only does he spit and sputter his way through the crowd, but he manages to belt out a song that takes the plot to a higher level. The click of the barrel, the crack of a .22 as the song goes and entire cast joins in. It would be frightening if it didn't take 4 minutes for the wounded man to tell his tale, dance a bit and keep the secret of who plugged him. Cafe` Noir is current playing in 40 cities around the U.S. and has enjoyed great success since David Landau wrote it in 1989. Recent Media Coverage of Belle Mount PlayersGlenn Evans, Theatre Critic for the Westmoreland News was present for the Valentines Day 1998 performance and expressed his feelings for the show: "The cast of seven led a sold-out crowd on a merry chase through a convoluted tale of greed and lust." |
